Franklin Mint Duck Stamps Ingots
Rarity Guide
Comments
This is one of the few new sets minted by the Franklin Mint after 1980, when high silver prices all but decimated the market for this type of set. The first series was issued in the early 1980's with reproductions of the first 50 years of federal duck stamps. Later the set was re-issued and updated with 5 additional stamps - 55 in all. The 50-stamp set came in a brown velvet case; the 55 ingot set came in a cherrywood case. The 55-stamp set is much rarer, and more attractive overall. This set has some of the most intricate designs and finest level of detail I have ever seen on any Franklin Mint set.
